My career in ShowBiz involves working long countless hours with little consideration of the clock until things simply get done. People always ask me how much fun it should be working with celebrities and my answer will always end with…… “we get the job done by any means necessary, without marginal room for error”. Yes working on high level Politicians, Celebrities, Athletes and the community at large is very exciting but it comes with many responsibilities, patience and a creativity. My experience in my line of work therefore offered me the opportunity to learn from the best and understanding that success demands humility and giving back to the community.
I first began volunteering at Church when l would help to feed the homeless on weekends. While working in corporate America, our VP used to hold mandatory meetings to educate us about the importance of donating to various Charities and our company would often match out donations. I soon realized that this was not a stretch for me because l begun to enjoy helping others in need with the little l could afford. I carried this experience through to the years and taught my children the importance of giving back at a tender age. After becoming a professional in my field, l have been using my skills and life experience to mentor youths and other business owners. My organization CHANNEL A TV partners with other Non Profit Organizations by creating and documenting events for a purpose of educating others through digital media.
The overriding feeling I get from volunteering is of great gratification and fun. I never feel like I’m working because I’m doing something I really enjoy. Helping others makes you feel good, and I always end up benefiting from volunteering just as much as the people I’m supposed to be helping. I’ve gained many valuable lessons through volunteer work and l would not trade my experiences for anything. I’d recommend anyone to get involved in volunteer work on any level and if you are interested in partnering with us, please do not hesitate to contact me.
For your reference, here are some volunteer work l have done in the community.
