FROM MEDIA PRODUCTION TO PUBLISHED AUTHOR

Documenting knowledge. Sharing experience. Empowering the next generation.

For more than two decades, my professional journey has taken me through television, film, digital media, live broadcasting, streaming, technology, entrepreneurship and community storytelling.

Today, I am expanding that journey into another important form of storytelling: book publishing.

Writing books allows me to take lessons learned through years of hands-on experience and transform them into resources that can educate, inspire and empower the next generation of media professionals, entrepreneurs, content creators and technology leaders.

My authorship venture is an extension of the work I have already been doing through Channel A TV, DC Productions Media Group and other media and community initiatives—but instead of communicating through cameras and screens alone, I am now using books to preserve knowledge and make it accessible for generations to come.

MY FIRST PUBLISHED BOOKS

I recently expanded my publishing portfolio with the release of two books focused on the rapidly changing media landscape:

THE ART OF DIGITAL STREAMING

The Art of Digital Streaming explores the transformation of broadcasting from traditional television to today’s digital and streaming environment.

The book draws from practical experience in television production, live streaming, digital broadcasting, audience development, content creation and media technology.

Among the subjects explored are digital broadcasting, social media audience growth, monetization, sports broadcasting, nonprofit and faith-based streaming, crisis communication, storytelling and the growing role of artificial intelligence in media.

The book reflects an important principle that has shaped my career:

Technology is powerful, but storytelling is what gives technology purpose.

THE DIGITAL MEDIA MASTERCLASS

The Digital Media Masterclass expands the conversation beyond streaming into the broader digital media ecosystem.

The book is designed around the idea that digital media knowledge should not be limited to traditional broadcasters or technology professionals.

Today, entrepreneurs, artists, nonprofits, educators, community organizations, businesses and emerging creatives all need to understand how digital platforms can help them communicate, build audiences and expand their reach.

My experience in media production, digital transformation, branding, storytelling, podcasting, television and emerging technologies provides the foundation for this educational approach.

THE EXPERIENCE BEHIND THE BOOKS

These books are not written from theory alone.

They are informed by years of working directly inside the media and entertainment industry.

Through DC Productions Media Group, founded in 2010, I have worked across video production, live streaming, network technology and large-scale media projects. Through Channel A TV, I have continued developing platforms that combine television, streaming, community storytelling and digital media.

My professional media journey has also included coverage of major entertainment, sports and international events, including the GRAMMY Awards, Oscars, BET Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, NFL Super Bowls, FIFA events, NBA, WNBA, Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Sounders, U.S. Soccer, United Nations events and U.S.-Africa summits.

Those experiences have given me an opportunity to observe firsthand how the media industry has evolved—from traditional broadcasting and physical production infrastructure to social media, livestreaming, on-demand programming and increasingly AI-assisted media production.

WHY I CHOSE TO WRITE

The media industry is changing faster than ever.

Technology evolves. Platforms change. Audiences move. Business models transform.

But one thing remains constant: people need knowledge to navigate change.

Writing gives me an opportunity to document some of the lessons I have learned along the way.

I believe that knowledge should not simply remain in the minds of experienced professionals. It should be documented, shared and made available to people who are preparing to enter the industry.

That is one of the reasons I decided to become an author and publisher.

BUILDING A LEGACY OF KNOWLEDGE

My publishing journey is also about legacy.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of mentoring young creatives, working with established professionals and collaborating with entrepreneurs, artists, filmmakers, broadcasters and community leaders.

Books create another way to continue that mentorship.

A television program may reach an audience for an hour.

A digital interview may reach millions of people online.

But a book can remain on a shelf, in a library, on a digital device or in someone’s hands for decades.

That makes publishing especially meaningful to me.

THE INTERSECTION OF MEDIA, TECHNOLOGY AND AI

Artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly important part of the media industry, and it is also becoming an important part of my writing and professional work.

My approach to AI is centered on practical application and responsible innovation—examining how emerging technologies can support content creation, productivity, media operations, audience engagement and digital transformation.

My professional work has included participation in the Microsoft Global Nonprofit Leaders Summit, including conversations around AI and technology’s potential to strengthen nonprofit organizations and communities.

The future of media will require professionals who understand both technology and storytelling.

That intersection is at the heart of my authorship.

FROM AUTHOR TO PUBLISHER

My vision extends beyond writing books about my own experiences.

I am also interested in helping other professionals tell their stories.

There are countless artists, entrepreneurs, community leaders, executives, entertainers, athletes and innovators whose experiences contain valuable lessons but have never been properly documented.

Through my publishing work, I am exploring opportunities to help transform those experiences into professionally developed books.

This includes working with authors on:

  • Book concepts and development
  • Author positioning
  • Manuscript development
  • Story structure
  • Editing and refinement
  • Publishing strategy
  • Cover development
  • Digital publishing
  • Amazon distribution
  • Marketing and promotional strategy
  • Media and publicity
  • Personal branding

The objective is not simply to publish a book.

It is to build an author’s intellectual and professional legacy.

THE NEXT GENERATION OF AUTHORS

My publishing venture is particularly important to my broader mission of empowering emerging creatives.

Many young people have extraordinary stories but do not always recognize the value of documenting their experiences.

A book can become more than a publication.

It can become:

A teaching tool.

A professional credential.

A historical record.

A business asset.

A legacy project.

A platform for future opportunities.

I want to encourage more people—especially creatives and entrepreneurs—to understand that their knowledge and experiences have value.

PUBLISHED ON AMAZON

Both The Art of Digital Streaming and The Digital Media Masterclass are available through Amazon, making these works accessible to readers beyond my immediate professional and geographic networks.

For me, seeing these books move from ideas and manuscripts into published works represents an important milestone.

It is also the beginning of something much larger.

A GROWING LIBRARY OF STORIES

My authorship journey will continue.

Future publishing projects will explore media, entertainment, entrepreneurship, leadership, technology, African and diaspora stories, creative industries and the experiences of individuals who have built meaningful careers despite obstacles.

Some projects will tell my own story.

Others will document the journeys of people I have had the privilege of working with and mentoring.

Each book will have a common purpose:

To preserve stories.

To share knowledge.

To inspire action.

To create opportunities.

To build legacy.

MY PHILOSOPHY

I have always believed that success is not only about what we accomplish for ourselves.

It is also about what we leave behind for others.

My transition into authorship and publishing reflects that philosophy.

After years of using cameras, television networks, digital platforms and live broadcasts to tell stories, I am now adding books to that creative toolkit.

The journey continues from broadcasting to publishing, from storytelling to knowledge-sharing, and from experience to legacy.
